Illinois workNet
Local Workforce Area (LWA) 25 was selected as a pilot for Illinois workNet, which was launched in June 2005 by the Governor's Illinois Workforce Investment Board, currently chaired by Jack Lavin, Director, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and Ron Whitley of Cushman and Wakefield.
Illinois workNet is a very user-friendly Web site for providing job seekers information on job opportunities and career, education, and work support services. The site, referred to as a portal, is a cooperative effort with state workforce development, education agencies, and local workforce investment boards; which include public and private partners including local governments, community colleges and non-profit organizations.
The Illinois workNet portal is a way to connect employers and job seekers and expand economic opportunity in Illinois. |
