Y.E.S. program offers PAID summer employment opportunities for young adults
Man-Tra-Con will administer the Illinois Youth Employment for the Summer (Y.E.S.) program for Local Workforce Investment Area (LWIA) 25, in partnership with the Illinois Department of Human Services and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The Y.E.S. program, initiated by Governor Pat Quinn, provides temporary full-time work for eligible young adults through state funds and federal stimulus dollars. Participants will work between 30 and 32 hours per week. The program began in LWIA 25 on July 6, 2010, and will end on September 30, 2010. All youth participants must be placed before September 1, 2010.
Opportunities for Employers
Through the Y.E.S. program, Man-Tra-Con will:
- pay wages
- pay workers comp and Social Security
- recruit workers
- maintain payroll

To participate in the program, youth must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- 16-24 years old, and be a
- parent of a minor child, or
- non-custodial parent of a minor child, or
- living with a parent or caretaker guardian, and
- Illinois resident authorized to work in the U.S., and
- household income below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
